Joy Onome Ibiese is an interior designer who believes a well-designed space should feel like a deep breath — calm, personal, and unmistakably yours. With three years of experience across homes, offices, and everything in between, she blends function and warmth into every space she touches.

Her story

Onome's love for design began at home — literally. Growing up watching her mother work as an interior designer, she absorbed the craft long before she understood it as a career: the way a room could shift entirely with the right fabric, the quiet decisions behind texture and colour. That early exposure grew into her own path — not in full-room design, but in the details that make a space feel finished: curtains, bedding, cushions, blinds, and the soft layers people live with every day.

She trained hands-on, learning through practice rather than a classroom, and has since worked on projects ranging from full bedroom refreshes to single custom curtain orders. Every piece is made to fit both the space and the person it's created for.

Design philosophy

Onome believes the small textile choices in a home carry more weight than people expect. The right curtain changes how light moves through a room, while the right bedding changes how a bedroom feels at the end of the day. Her process begins with understanding how people actually use their spaces before recommending fabrics, colours, or textures. She values pieces that feel personal and lived-in over anything mass-produced, often drawing inspiration from Nigerian textile traditions.
